Chia seeds: one of the best sources of Omega 3 fatty acids.

These past two evenings, I've worked on healingdaily.com at the tables outside Everybody's grocery store, while eating delicious mango ice cream and organic fruit.

I need to point out that this is not your average ice cream: when you live in Fairfield, Iowa, you get to enjoy Radiance milk, which comes from happy, free, grass-grazing cows that hear Vedic recitations all day long.

I was told that when Ayurvedic doctor Triguna visited Fairfield from India several years ago, he said that Radiance milk was more beneficial than any rasayana, and that Radiance milk alone was reason enough to live in Fairfield!

Chia seeds are cheap, require no cooking, are one of the best sources of Omega 3 fatty acids (good for brain health) and are high in fiber and a good source of protein.

Chia seeds contain 4 times more calcium than milk, 16 times more magnesium than broccoli. And they have no taste! You can have chia seeds in water, juice, yogurt, oatmeal, etc.

The Aztecs used to make chia seeds a staple of their diet, so what does that tell you? I don't know, it doesn't mean that much to me, the Aztecs are no longer around, are they? I just thought I'd throw that tidbit about the Aztecs in there because pretty much every webpage I've seen about chia seeds talks about the Aztecs. Aztecs this, Aztecs that. It's impressive, OK?

Chia seeds are a healing food that requires no cooking. Perfect for vandwelling too!
